The Informatics Pearl session at the ASHP MidYear Meeting was a hit last year and is back by popular demand! The session will be on Wednesday, December 7, 2011 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
It's a five minute presentation designed to convey one practical idea, concept, or fact that has been useful in day-to-day practice. It should be an interesting topic that is not "common knowledge" or widely published, understood or taught, and can help improve patient care. Keep in mind that these presentations are not intended to be a review of literature. While it is expected that the information be grounded in fact (and may be derived from research), pearl presentations should be based on your Informatics acumen and years of practice, as opposed to a review of papers. If you are planning to attend and would like to submit a "Byte", please send a title and a brief description to armen.simonian@... by July 1, 2011.
This year we are looking for Informatics Bytes related to any of the following:
