USP 800 Notice of Intent to Revise

I just read the USP is delaying its implementation date of 800 to match the revised 797's implementation date. Has anyone else seen this? I still plan on moving forward with 800, especially since it sounds like there will be work to be done with 797 compliance as well.

Erika,

Yes, this is true and it is not fake news.  No one should stop working on their compliance plan.  The sooner you are compliant, the sooner you will reduce the risk of occupational exposure.

Re: USP 800 Notice of Intent to Revise

I saw some pharmacy groups pushing for 2021 after I posted. So they are adding on 18 months. Ok, but it could have been done on time as many have been. My issue with 797 revision, was it looked like it was to be accepted after USP 800 enforcement. This at least gets both 797&800 on same enforcement page where they belong. Any idea on 797 next public release for comment? Gotta be soon. It needs to before CETA 2018 meeting..where you got alot of the USP experts together for a few days. Thanks.. question,. Bleep??.. because I couldn't find it on Google or USP web page this morning after I posted.... or some other reason?? Gotta ask.

Not sure why the link on my first post isn't working.

Re: USP 800 Notice of Intent to Revise

Thanks. I looked at the general headings, news, the sub page on revisions or intent to revise this morning. I didn't go to the actual page where this was located with a general description of USP 800. So now enforcement is pushed back six months. It eliminates the fiscal year argument. Just wishing we could see the next 797 revision before Year's End from a HVAC standpoint. Thanks again.

No, USP 800 implementation is pushed back almost a year and a half. Estimated implementation date at this point is December 2019.
