Pressure gauges

 Another question:

At least twice a year, the independent group that certifies the hoods and compounding area also does a pressure monitoring between the buffer area and the ante room. Does that satisfy USP 797, or do continuous pressure guages need to be installed? Thanks again!

Re: Pressure gauges

It is good that your certifier is checking the pressures twice a year but the chapter requires that the pressure differential be observed and recorded/documented on a daily basis.  You can install an inexpensive magnehelic gauge (about $200).  I would install one between the buffer and ante areas and ante area to the general pharmacy area.  You want to see a "cascading pressure" from the buffer area-->ante area-->general pharmacy.
