Eyelash extensions are individual lashes, made of a synthetic fiber, which are glued on one by one to the top of each eyelash. Extensions remain on for approximately 3-4 weeks and fall out with the natural growth and shedding cycle of the eyelash. Would these be considered a cosmetic?

There are many products and serum can be used for eyelash growth instead of extension which last for few weeks. Some of these products are even FDA approved for eyelash growth.

I would absolutely not allow eyelash extensions in a sterile environment - especially if they're designed to fall out! How can you ensure that they don't fall out in the cleanroom and introduce contaminants into the sterile environment? Better safe than sorry..

Mikki ( queen of diamonds),
Eyelash extensions are considered cosmetic at my institution. We do not allow them and watch for the fashion trend as it ahs revealed itself from time to time.

I got DermalMD Eyelash serum for Christmas, and it really does work. I’ve seen I huge difference in the length and thickness of my lashes after just 2 weeks. Whoever really wants to extent their eyelash, I would strongly recommend.

we wear goggles anyway and still do not allow it. We discuss the matter at length with new recruits. I like the previous suggestion - using serum to grow your own - if nothing else it indicates to those you have looked into the matter.
